Description / Heuchera Fyre Wing™ 'Hematite' Coral Bells
Heuchera Fyre Wing™ 'Hematite' Coral Bells is a compact, mounding perennial with deeply lobed leaves that resemble Japanese maple foliage. The leaves are a rich cordovan red with copper tips, creating warm, layered color. White and yellow flowers appear in May and June on stems about 10 inches tall, above a low 6 inch mound of foliage about 11 inches wide.
New for 2026 in the Terra Nova® Fyre Wing™ series, 'Hematite''s small size makes it ideal for mixed containers and specimen spots where foliage contrast and winter color matter. Its maple like leaves add fine texture beside broad foliage. In shade, pair it with astilbe, ferns, hostas, and hellebores. In sun, try it with daylilies and ornamental grasses.
Plant in full sun to part shade in organic, well drained soil; clay or rocky soil also works when drainage is adequate. Keep soil moist but not waterlogged, then allow moderate drying once established. Avoid burying the crown at planting time. Hardy in Zones 4 to 9, 'Hematite' grows at a moderate rate and stays evergreen in warm regions and semi evergreen in cold climates. Cordovan red, maple like leaves in such a compact package give 'Hematite' its distinctive character.
